Learn how to configure WTFAA to maximize your productivity.
API Configuration
WTFAA supports multiple AI models. To use them, you may need to configure your own API keys. Your keys are stored locally only.
Account & Sync
Signing in with your Google Account enables:
- Settings Sync: Your themes, configured prompts, and preferences are synced across all your Chrome devices.
- Usage Stats: Track your token usage and interaction history.
Note: We do NOT sync your API keys to the cloud for security reasons. Keys are stored safely in your local browser storage.

AI Settings
Temperature (Creativity)
Controls how random the output is.
- Precise (0.0 - 0.5): Best for coding, factual analysis, and translations.
- Creative (1.0 - 2.0): Best for brainstorming, creative writing, and casual chat.
Advanced Features
Google Search: Allows the AI to search the live web for up-to-date information.
Thinking Level: Set to "High" to see the model's internal reasoning process before it answers.
Appearance
Customize the look and feel of the extension:
- Themes: Switch between Light, Dark, or NightBlue modes to match your OS or preference.
- Language: The interface supports English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, German, and French.
Common Questions
Is it free to use?
The extension is free to download. To use the AI features, you can either use your own API Key (pay-as-you-go directly to Google/OpenAI) or use our free tier if available.
My API Key isn't working?
Please ensure you have copy-pasted the full key without spaces. Also check if your Google Cloud billing or OpenAI credits are active, as free trial keys may expire.
